Handle Your Business

Class is in session, knowing your art is more then painting a great picture. It requires having the proper tools.

It has been my experience in this business that the tools you work with can either simplify your life or make it near impossible to deliver. So to all my beauty addicts, take note. When you can't make it to see your hair doctor make it your point to buy the right tools of the trade.

Great Shampoo, conditioner, treatment for colored treated hair, great comb & brush and keep a set of bobby pins , hair band in your Prada makeup pouch.

While on set of 106 & Park we made sure that we took notes and here are some of the secrets that you can find at your local drugstores, Duane Reade, Walgreens and Target.

Beauty Picks for your medicine cabinet to hold you over until your next visit:
VO5 Shampoo
Dove Conditioner
Paul Mitchell Spray
Conair Brush
Goodie Bobby Pins

Till next time beauties.

Prayer For Today

"Father in heaven, today I choose to surrender all my questions, all my fears, and all my doubts. I know that You have only my best interest at heart. I trust You and believe that You are working behind the scenes for my sake. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Mad Monday Week in Review

We have been gone a little to long, but trust me when I say the "Week in Review" will totally be worth our silence, which often means that our behind the scenes work is in progress.

Q's hectic schedule continues to bring untold secrets. Some of which we can share and others we have to keep on the hush hush. But what we can share with you we most definitely will.
We had the opportunity to work with some friends and family this week, and we also got to induce some new members to "Q's Hall of Fame".

Adrienne Balion, Friday worked with us on a beauty editorial for Honey Magazine that was among the red carpet hotties we love and worked with. We are in the process of reinventing her new look to chanel the hot look of the 80's, long luxurious curly brown locks inspired by Lisa Lisa of Cult Jam and Vanity. Of course we had to modernized it by adding a bit of Adrienne's personality to it with the Q-LoveBugTouch. Makeup by Mario that has layed hands on faces such as the Kardashian sisters.

Saturday we caught up with Janelle Grimond fashioniesta, formerly of Vibe Magazine whom you all need to look out for in the upcoming days especially during Fashion Week.
Miquelle West the accessories diva of the hottest luxury brand Louis Vuitton stopped in to feed her addiction to the Q-LoveBug Touch.

Then there was one of the greatest highlights of this weeks' events, working on Queen Latifah's music video "Fast Car" directed by Juwan Lee. Featuring Missy Elliot, Robin Thicke, Paula Patten, Common, Jada Kiss and Angie Martinez. Blessed by the hand of Q were Paula Patten, Robin Thicke, and Angie Martinez.

We can't forget Letoya Luckett our songstress who is has been raising the bar on the music scene with her hot album to be release "Lady Love".

We want to send big love and kisses to Chanel Iman and let her know that although we didn't get a chance to feed her addiction of the Q-LoveBug Touch we will definitely catch up very soon.

Beautiful People 2009

While his magnetic personality, toned physique and impeccable style could easily make him a natural star, Quintin Hardy decided a long time ago that he would rather groom than be groomed. "My family still has pictures of me at five doing hair," says Hardy, now 26. "My mom had long, flowy hair and I'd style it into Farrah Fawcett feathers. She was my first official muse." It would be a while, though, before he took styling seriously. After spending his early childhood in Germany, Hardy and his family moved to Virginia, where the preacher's son tried his hand at an array of different pursuits, from football to music marketing, the latter of which brought Hardy -- with no money and no connections -- to New York City.

Hardy managed to land an internship at Universal Records, which led to a job at Motown, where his duties included organizing photo shoots inspired him to start up with an old pastime: hair styling. He quit his job and took on an apprenticeship with seasoned stylist Amoy Pitters. The risky move proved profitable. Soon Victoria Gotti, Queen Latifah, Beyoncé and Naomi Campbell came calling, and today his list of devotees includes Iman, Zoe Kravitz and Kimora Lee Simmons, among others. Hardy's talent is crafting luxurious looks that transform his clients from good to gorgeous. But his true allure is his sink-side manner: patient listening, spot-on advice and colorful stories. Now, a larger audience may soon experience the eccentric and charming personality that has seduced his celeb clientele for years. "There might be a television show," Hardy shares reticently. When pumped for more details, he continues, "It's not confirmed, so I can't say any more." It looks as though the groomer may become one of the groomed after all.
